Why Hire A Professional Editor?
You've revised, rewritten, and drafted until you could no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel, and yet, something still feels a bit off. Your beta readers or critique partners can't seem to agree with what your story needs. Or you're stuck somewhere in the middle. That is when it's time for a professional to step in and help.
Our editors love stories. Love devouring them. Love making them shine. They will always tell you the truth about what's working and what may not be working, and why. Check availability here.

They focus on big-picture story, structure, plot, character arcs, pacing and flow. Feedback will consist of an objective analysis, with the goal of strengthening the narrative foundation.
Cost: $.03 per word. (Example. $.03 x 80k words = $2400)
**Minimum 30k words.
Anniversary Sale! Dev. Edit is $.02 per word. (Example. $.02 x 80k words = $1600)

While our Developmental Editor will take on almost every genre, specializing particularly in Fantasy, there are a few things that unfortunately they won't be a good fit for.
Not A Good Fit For:
-
Splatterpunk or heavy gore centric
-
Erotica
-
Dark Romance
-
Note: This can be tricky. Dark themes such as overcoming abuse, etc, are welcome, however, we are not comfortable with the normalization of abusive relationships. NonCon or heavy BDSM.
-
However, Diet Dark Romance is great. Send us novels like The Phantom's Melody, Lights out, etc.
-
-
Non-Fiction, Screenplays, Poetry.
-
Memoirs are welcome.
-
-
Any writing created or modified by an AI reinforcement learning or natural language processing system, such as Chat-GPT, etc.

Manuscript Evaluation
A Manuscript Evaluation is a 'lighter' version of a developmental edit. Though our evaluator follows the same process as a dev. edit with a full and complete in depth critique, the final editorial letter does not go into quite as much detail, nor does it offer big-picture suggestions as a dev. edit would.
Cost: $.01 per word (Example. $.01 x 80k words = $800)
Anniversary Sale! Manu. Eval is $.008 per word. (Example. $.008 x 80k words = $640)
Is a Manuscript Evaluation the right option for you?
-
You've finished your 2nd, 3rd, or 10th revision and haven't had any other eyes on it because you don't know where to go, or want a professional opinion. Then, yes.
-
You've had mixed feedback or none at all from beta readers and/or critique partners, and would like a reliable, and in depth read. Then, yes.
-
You've had mixed feedback and don't know what to do with it. Then, probably good time for a Dev. Edit. But if budget says otherwise, then yes, a Manu. Eval will suffice.
What's included in the Manu. Eval?
-
One read through of your manuscript.
-
You will receive heavy marginal comments and feedback as to why something isn't working and why.
-
Editorial letter of your strengths, weakness, and structure. May include links to free resources.

Not A Good Fit For:
-
Splatterpunk or heavy gore centric (Terrifier)
-
Evaluator loves stories like SAW 1 & 2. Heavy in psychological horror, with some gore. This is fine because gore isn't the focus of the story.

Erotica
-
Dark Romance
